Challenge

• Due to water production, acid insoluble scale accumulated, plugging a 13,000 ft well
• Production decline had been observed due to the scale choking
• Scale had also restricted the SSSV from working which posed a safety concern for any workover operation

Solution

• Slow rotating Hydra-Blast® Pro service provided customized chemical packages, cleaning heads, and specialized software that predicted optimum nozzle, fluid and treatment selection

Result

• Halliburton’s coiled tubing intervention solution was proposed as an alternative to changing the well completion - alternative option would have cost over $4MM with +/- 25 days of deferred production
• Halliburton’s solution was executed in 5 days with a total cost (including the rig cost) of $1MM
• No formation damage resulted as well was not killed
