  • Depleted sandstone oil reservoir in the North Sea 
  • Horizontal completion with pre-pack screens 
  • BHT ~200°F 
  • Wellbore was eventually shut-in as the horizontal drain watered out, 100% watercut (WC)

Solution

  • Identify current water oil contact (WOC) 
  • Isolate production from pre-pack screens: Thermatek® 
  • Re-perforate above current WOC

Result

  • Watercut reduced by more than 90% 
  • The same process was successfully applied to four wells
